You can’t visit Marrakech and not visit a Hammam or a Spa, it’s basically compulsory! G and I had planned on spending a day relaxing by the pool to unwind so I booked us in for a spa day at La Mamounia Hotel which has one of the worlds most iconic spas.
Spa Reception Areas
Wandering through to the reception area is a visual feast of beautiful tiles and gorgeous lanterns that you will want to pinch and take home with you. Booking was a breeze and as it was a week day it was pretty easy to get a booking for a treatment however bookings are recommended.
Spa Day Pass
Now if you aren’t a guest of La Mamounia Hotel you can still use the spa facilities and have treatments but you will need to purchase a Spa Day Pass for 500 MAD per person which gives you access to the indoor and outdoor pools, jacuzzi and gym; this is a pretty good deal in my books as it works out at approx. £35 pp. If your hotel in Marrakech doesn’t have a pool then this is a great option to spend a day relaxing in one of the most luxurious hotels you will find in Marrakech.
Obviously treatments are additional plus the hotel doesn’t offer the Spa Day Pass if the hotel is fully booked. If the hotel requires you to purchase a treatment with the Spa Day Pass then the cheapest treatments are a Reshaping Manicure (500 MAD / approx. £35) or a 30 minute Relaxing Massage (750 MAD / approx. £50)
To book a Spa Day Pass at La Mamounia Hotel you will need to contact the hotel directly via email lespa@mamounia.com
Spa Facilities
The spa facilities contain an indoor pool and jacuzzi…
…an outdoor pool, steam room, relaxation areas, treatment rooms and a gym.
Treatment
I booked G and I both in for a 60 minute Relaxing Mamounia Massage which costs 1,100 MAD (approx £75 pp). When I made the booking for our massages there was the choice of having the treatments in the same room but as I squeal a lot when I have massages I went for separate treatment rooms; it was lovely to have the option.
I loved the massage, it wasn’t rough and I did leave feeling really relaxed especially as there was a really good scalp massage involved; who else adores scalp massages?
The Spa Undies
The undies were of a light material and weren’t a G String but came pretty darn close. I will point out now that these are rather difficult to photograph when by yourself; next time I will pop them on my head! Plus I still don’t get the point of Spa Undies!
The Hotel
I loved La Mamounia Hotel and you can read my full review of the hotel here. If you find the hotel a little too pricey for your accommodation budget, definitely look into either booking yourself in for afternoon tea or purchasing a Spa Day Pass so you can still enjoy the beauty that is La Mamounia Hotel.
Have you visited La Mamounia Hotel; what are your thoughts on the property? Would you be happy to spend £35 for a Spa Day Pass?
xx
