Travelling with a gluten free dietary requirement can be fun to say the least, especially when it comes to plane food.
A heads up if you are travelling within Europe on short haul flights; where a snack / meal is offered there is no gluten free option in Economy however if you are travelling in Business there is a full gluten free meal provided. But as always there are exceptions to the rule like good old Easyjet whom offer gluten free options on their menu (yes you pay for them) and for me this makes the low cost airline a major winner in my gluten free travelling world!
It would be nice if gluten free snacks could be offered on all European short haul flights; am totally happy with a Mrs Crimbles Coconut Macaroon and a cup of tea.
So without further ado here are my gluten free plane meals to date –
British Airways – Dusseldorf to London Heathrow (Club World / Business Class) – part of the meal that was provided wasn’t gluten free unfortunately.
British Airways – London Heathrow to Dusseldorf (Club World / Business Class)
British Airways – London Heathrow to Vienna (Club World / Business Class)
British Airways – Marseille to London Heathrow (Club World / Business Class)
British Airways – London Heathrow to Marseille (Club World / Business Class) – my gluten free meal didn’t make it onto the plane so a normal meal was provided with complimentary champagne so I had to eat around the gluten!
