I’m pretty excited, so much so I might have kittens! After months and months of talking about it, tonight we are flying off on our two week adventure to Hong Kong and Malaysia BUT first I have a day at work. I thought this was the easiest way to keep mum and dad in the loop with our travel plans…and also G if he ever wants to know where we are going. So without further ado here is our Hong Kong and Malaysia Itinerary for the next two weeks!
We fly tonight to Hong Kong with British Airways and it will be first time flying First Class with BA and using the famous Concorde Lounge (Anna has told me that I should be able to spot a celeb or two…I’m bloody useless at this but will give it a go!). I actually can’t wait to see what gluten free options are available in the Lounge and onboard.
G and I are booked into the Intercontinental Hong Kong which is an IHG hotel, my preferred hotel chain when travelling and apparently this hotel has the best spot in Hong Kong. We haven’t got any plans to be honest (no surprises there really; it’s my travel personality all summed up!) so will rely heavily on the concierge for recommendations but if you do have some tips please let me know!
We then head onto Malaysia, flying on Malaysian Airlines, eeek I know! We’ve decided to hire a rental car (I decided this, the royal we!) to get around so we can explore the countryside.
Our first three nights in Malaysia we are spending at the Pangkor Laut Resort which is located on a private island and it looks like paradise, don’t you think!
The following two nights we are staying at The Banjaran Hotsprings Resort in Ipoh which is a thermal hot springs, I’m kinda thinking Rotorua but without the rotten egg smell and the sideway glances of…did you just blow off! You can read the Travelista’s review here of the property.
Our next stop for two nights is the Cameron Highlands Resort which is where you will find all the tea plantations. I booked us in here for a few reasons, 1) we drink a lot of tea so would be finally good to see a tea plantation 2) they offer afternoon tea (and I like afternoon tea!) and 3) apparently it’s a lot cooler here so it will give us some time to cool down.
Our lucky last stop in Malaysia is Kuala Lumpur where we will be staying at the Majestic Hotel and guess what…they offer afternoon tea! It’s not the reason I booked, there was a special deal when booking the Pangkor Laut Resort that you got a free night in KL so it worked in quite well…but the hotel was on my afternoon tea radar anyway, just need to check that they can do a gluten free option.
We then jump on our broom sticks and head back over to Hong Kong for one night staying at The Peninsula Hotel where we will be having afternoon tea.
Luckily enough we’re allowed 4 checked in bags each on our British Airways flights so I’m thinking there is going to be a lot of shopping happening!
You can follow me on instagram where I will be sharing all my #holidayspam and thankfully I have changed over to Three Mobile which means I can use my unlimited data in Hong Kong – get ready to be spammed!
So what shopping tips do you folks have for Hong Kong? Where do you recommend seeing in Kuala Lumpur?
