Christmas Gift Ideas for Travellers: 2017 Edition

With Christmas just around the corner…trust me…you’ll blink and it’ll be Christmas Day in just a few seconds, I thought I would put together a little listing of Christmas Gift Ideas for Travellers, the 2017 edition.  Catherine wrote a post a while back about promoting products that we love so I wanted to share companies that I love and products that I use in this Christmas Gift Guide plus one thing I do fancy buying myself in the near future.

2018 Bon Voyage Calendar

Who loves retro inspired prints…well this Bon Voyage Calendar is just perfect.  I picked up one in Washington DC last year for 2017 and it sits in my shoe room so I’ll definitely be purchasing this desk calendar for 2018 as it makes me smile every time I spot it each morning as I pick out my shoes for the day!

Tea + Kate £18 (UK Link and supporting an independent business!) or The Paper Parlour £15.50/ Anthropologie $18 (US Link)

Paravel Stowaway Suitcase

When I bought myself my Briggs & Riley Suitcase last year, I vowed that I never had to buy another piece of luggage as it had a lifetime guarantee against every kind of damage (even the type of damage poor Riley sustained on Santorini).  Then I spotted the Paravel Stowaway Suitcase while watching a J Crew packing video a few months back and was like wow…it folds down for storage so it’s not bulky and if you’re like me and do a spot of shopping while on holiday (I like to call this supporting the local economy) it would solve a few packing problems.  It would fit nicely inside my larger suitcase as it lies flat and then I could whip it out when required.  Paravel have 15% off at present…check out the JCrew video as it’s rather nifty…I’m saving up for one.

Paravel Website US$345 (ships internationally)

Leather Passport Cover

I’ve had my Aspinal of London Red Leather Passport Cover for a few years now and it still looks brand new…considering that it’s being lost and dropped more times than I can count!  Aspinal also offer free embossing to personalise the passport cover.

Aspinal of London £55 (UK)

REN Grab & Go Travel Kit

I’m a huge fan of REN, I use it all the time!  This cute little travel kit is a perfect size to throw in your overnight bag for a City Break weekend or for a long haul flight plus they are truly wonderful on sensitive skin which I suffer from. (I have a quick shower between long haul flights while transiting airports so having my favourite products in miniature is a life saver and makes me feel slightly human again before boarding another flight…however I still end up with pores that you could park a double decker bus in…air travel isn’t glamorous!).

John Lewis £22 (UK)

National Trust Pass

A National Trust Pass is a gift that keeps giving all year round!  I’m a huge fan of the National Trust, there are so many properties to discover within the UK.  You can check out some of the beautiful properties I’ve visited here but this is pretty much a perfect gift for folks or families that are hard to buy for or just aren’t looking for material items this year as they have enough…give family and friends an experience so that every time they visit a property they can think of you rather than having another unwanted gift sitting at the back of a cupboard.

National Trust Gift Membership (Memberships start at £32.40pp) or check out these other British Heritage Passes.

OPI Nail Polish

I’m a huge fan of OPI nail polish, it’s the only brand that I use now…I’m pretty much stuck in my ways at the old age of 37.  I love OPI as they create collections based on destinations…the California Collection and Fiji Collection to name a few or you could buy my favourite OPI colour which is Big Apple Red.  The kooky names are perfect for ladies that love to travel and these bottles are great little stocking fillers.

Olympus OM-D E-M10

I thought I would throw in the camera that I use to take most of my photos for this blog now…I was a Nikon girl before however I’m a total convert to Olympus for all my cameras now and I have to say that I do love them a lot and highly recommend them.  What I love the most about the Olympus OM-D is the size…you can fit her nicely into a handbag and she doesn’t complain (well maybe a little when covered in Dolly Mix sugar dust!)!

Olympus OM-D Mark II (the model I own) / Olympus OM-D Mark III (this model was released in August)

After reading a few books lately on decluttering and frugal living, before Christmas shopping maybe ask your loved ones what they fancy this year…rather than buying them a number of items that they will never use why not all pool together with other friends and family to buy something that they really want but have struggled to buy themselves or think about experiences that they can use during the year.

Anyway, I hope the above gave you a couple of ideas for Christmas presents…Good Luck with the shopping and a very early Merry Christmas!

Disclaimer: some of the links are affiliate links meaning I may earn a little (and I mean teeny) bit of commission from the brand (not you!)…this keeps G in the lifestyle in which he has become accustomed.
