One the first fine Sunday of 2015 I had a breakfast date at Kaspar’s located inside The Savoy Hotel in London. When doing my google search to find hotels that offered a great gluten free breakfast, lunch or dinner, I stumbled on the menu for the gluten free breakfast at The Savoy and I was totally impressed. Three words – Gluten Free Pancakes!
The said menu at Kaspar’s Seafood Bar and Grill with the gluten free section at the bottom left including pancakes, french toast and muffin just to name a few.
After admiring our lovely waiters dotty tie that I was trying to nick off him (I didn’t succeed but he did say you could buy them from the website), I ordered my pancakes, along with a cup of tea and orange juice. Yannick my lovely brekkie date ordered gluten free pancakes as well; he’s a trooper!
First impressions they looked good however they weren’t the best gluten free pancakes I’ve ever eaten (or probably the worst either); they were a tad dry so I had to request another round of maple syrup (my pancake after the second round).

The service was fabulous, not intrusive just very calm and relaxing on a Sunday morning. How gorgeous is this place…

After our rather delightful breakfast we went in search for the hotel museum and also the famous Savoy Black Cat. We bumped into Judy Garland at the museum and I thought that was a sign to keep those red sparkly Dorothy shoes!
We found the hotel not to be as stuffy as we imagined it was going to be; it was quiet and calming – just what you want on a Sunday morning.
Bookings
I tried to book via email and website however was told preference was given to hotel guests but pop in and they could possibly seat us. At 9.30am (Sunday), Kaspar’s was deserted!
Price
We paid just under £25 pp for pancakes, tea, juice and the service charge which I thought was reasonable for one of London’s most iconic hotels.
Would I recommend?
If you’re looking for somewhere special for breakfast then the location is gorgeous but maybe try the french toast as I was a little disappointed with the gluten free pancakes.
Leaving The Savoy behind, Yannick showed me a little snippet of his new Art Deco Tour and it looks seriously lush!
So my big question is, who serves up the best gluten free breakfast in London? Suggestions?
