Let me introduce you to the sweet treats at Miann Britomart…if you’re looking for a place for a sweet date then this is it!
Mama, Lisa and I headed off to Miann Britomart for a quick afternoon bite to eat before shopping…and I’ve dreamed about returning ever since (they have…maybe more than once…I haven’t as yet…I like to call this self control on my part!).
If you love colourful tasty pastries…
…voluptuous doughnuts…
and drool worthy ice cream then this is the place for you.
We had self control…during the first Covid lockdown in New Zealand we seem to have acquired a little bit of self control and only ordered two pastries and a large pot of tea…
…I think I may have lost my self control in the second Covid lockdown.
Our order consisted of an eclair…
…and a mousse with dates at the bottom…in my world this counts as one of my five a day…dates are what healthy people eat!

…it was very good…do you want to see inside…let’s crack this girl open…
…going…going…
…gone!
We took a few photos to remember the occasion…it was only a week later that Auckland was back in lockdown with the Army and Police cutting Auckland off from the rest of New Zealand…this little sweet date at Miann Britomart becoming a distant memory fast in all the uncertainity…
…but looking back, we had a great time.
Tips for Miann Britomart
- All the pastries are listed as gluten, nut or alcohol free so it’s a great establishment to visit if you have food allergies
- There is seating inside and outside
- It is a very casual place for a quick date
- It is a tad expensive however the quality is really good and reminds me of the fabulous pastries that you find in Europe.
