If you haven’t guessed I love Waitawa Regional Park in Auckland A LOT…we come here for walks, picnics, swimming and for a Sunday drive in the Plymouth Fury. I’d like to say that Ma & Pa spaced their daughters birthdays throughout the year but they didn’t…Lisa and I are two weeks apart!
So one fine Sunday afternoon which was Lisa’s birthday, we jumped into the Plymouth Fury heading to Waitawa Regional Park and then stopping off for some yummy Tip Top ice cream in Clevedon on the way home.
The summer in Auckland was a bit crazy this year…so bloody windy, then it warmed up and we’ve had no rain, then it decided to be humid and now…well I think it’s trying to be autumn.
This was during the humid phase…hence the colours weren’t really popping on this visit BUT those views still take my breath away! Unfortunately a few weeks later, somebody decided to light a fire…you can imagine how quickly this beautiful spot went up in flames as it was so dry.
Everyone should celebrate their birthday doing what they want and dressing up how they want…my no fuss 40th birthday was celebrated on Tiritiri Matangi Island and the year before, was a walk at the Blue Springs…and I loved it.
For years, Lisa and Mama have gone somewhere pretty and taken birthday photos; it’s their tradition…this year, Pappy and I decided to join them for a Sunday drive.
Wearing: Lisa – Review Dress; Me – Farmers Zest Linen Skirt (and everything else is super old!)
We all wore appropriate clothing for a walk on a hot and humid Auckland day…
…I was one sweaty Betty when I made it back to the car.
The three girls decided to try for a girly selfie…while Lisa and I are tall…
…mama is just a tad challenged in the height department!
^^We kept losing her at the bottom of the frame!
A lovely couple asked if we would like a family photo together…
…we did…it’s a friendly reminder to say hello and to ask the question…we offered them the same kindness and they also now have a memory of their day together.
While Lisa and Mama have this tradition…Pappy and I don’t…we struggle to take serious photos…
…I do pout a lot more now in selfies though! My fantastic modelling skills come from my Pappy…always pulling a face or looking away from the camera…we snagged a good one though!
Leaving Waitawa Regional Park behind us, we mooched back to Clevedon which is a cute little arty village for ice cream…
…I would love to say that I escaped orange chocolate chip stains on my white top but that wouldn’t be the truth…ice cream on my boobies…of course…do you expect anything less from me?!?
Happy Birthday Lisa, the better dressed sister…Love you to the moon and back!
xx
