Late last year, I took myself on a little road trip up to Northland to visit a work friend but also to visit the beautiful Whangarei Falls. New Zealand has some spectacular waterfalls and they’re all unique in their own special way…from the walk to the falls or a legend…no two waterfalls are the same.
Whangarei Falls is a quick and easy journey from the city of Whangarei…
…one you arrive, park up and it’s a short walk to the Falls…no more than 10 minutes and that’s with a few stops along the way to take a few photos…
…chasing waterfalls and rainbows…just need a unicorn now…
…the vantage points are pretty sweet!
Still crappy at taking selfies…oh well!
Once at the bottom of the falls, there are picnic tables to take in the whole experience…
…I love the sound of waterfalls…they’re very relaxing and at the time I was anything but relaxed so these falls bought some relief to my state of mind.
The walk to Whangarei Falls isn’t strenuous but do remember to take a bottle of water…and if you’re that way inclined, a yummy picnic to have under the trees overlooking the Falls.
The walk is partly covered with a canopy of trees however only a small section so remember to cover yourself up from the harsh New Zealand sun.
