Around the World in a Three Course #TasteofTravel Menu with Celebrity Cruises

While I don’t really write about three course meals on my blog, I thought this would be a fun way of showcasing some of my favourite gluten free meals from around the world as part of the Three Course #TasteofTravel Menu with Celebrity Cruises.  A big thank you to Zoe from Love and Limoncello for the nomination.

Starter – Savoury Scones in Egypt

I’m not really a starter kind of girl, if you read my blog you know I’m all about the Sugar!  Scones aren’t something that you would really associate with Egypt however when I had afternoon tea at the Old Cataract Hotel they served up the scones with savoury toppings (something a little different, an Egyptian twist you might say) and I always “start” my afternoon tea with the savoury option first.

Trust me the view is also pretty mouth watering don’t you think!

Mains Course – Fresh Fish in Porto, Portugal

I’m a huge seafood lover and on my visit to Porto last year I was lucky enough to visit O Gaveto which specialises in fresh seafood.  With a gluten free dietary requirement I find getting back to basics is the best; fish, potatoes and greens!  Simple but truly the tastiest meal of 2014 for me.

Can’t make a decision, let the guys make it for you.  It was giggle central especially when they told me to gate crash other tables to take photos of other diners meals, so of course I did.  Portuguese hospitality at it’s best!

Dessert – Gluten Free Chocolate Eclairs in Paris

Nothing gets my heart racing faster than the dessert menu until I see that my gluten free option consists of fresh fruit and ice cream (queue the tears) but my prayers were answered when we headed to the pastry capital of the world, Paris.  Let me introduce you to gluten free Chocolate Eclairs, I ate three in minutes and I would happily visit Paris again just to eat ten more!

And hey it would be rude not to finish off our lovely meal with a drop or two of Port, right?
