Chelsea Garden Show Afternoon Tea's

This year is the centenary celebration of the Chelsea Garden Show, which has been held every year since 1913 except during the two World Wars.  The show attracts Royalty, Celebrities and gardeners alike who visit to take in the beautiful displays.

Chelsea Garden Show is the most prestigious Garden Show in the RHS social calendar and the tickets have now sold out (and I missed out!).  However don’t be disappointed, many of London’s beautiful hotels are celebrating the centenary by providing Chelsea Flower Show themed Afternoon Teas.

I visited a few years ago and the displays were simply gorgeous as you can see from the below photos.

The Athenaeum

The Evergreen Afternoon Tea served by The Athenaeum is served all year round and it includes the traditional selection of finger sandwiches, scones, toasted crumpets and a beautiful selection of cakes and pastries which include bird cookies and fairy cakes with sugar flowers.   Between 18th May to the 9th June The Athenaeum will be taking part in the Chelsea Fringe Festival where they will be holding an evening to discuss the living wall which is maintained by the hotel.

The Park Lane Hotel

This has to be the cutest Chelsea Flower Show inspired Afternoon Tea out there and it’s all because of the humble garden gnome!  The Royal Horticultural Society has finally lifted the long term ban on the gnome appearing at the Chelsea Flower Show hence the hotel’s Pastry Chef, Sarah Hartnett has created a cute eatable garden gnome to celebrate the decision along with eatable honey bees and ladybirds.  This Afternoon Tea makes me smile!
