I’m often sent emails asking what’s the best gluten free afternoon tea in London and I normally send a large email with a million links with all my advice…I’ve never really thought of publishing a post of my favourite 5 gluten free afternoon teas…doh…clotted cream brain! So without further ado here are my recommendations (based on many years of gluten free afternoon tea research which you can read all here) –
The Best Gluten Free Afternoon Tea in London
Without a doubt it’s Claridge’s…if anyone tells you differently, it’s because they haven’t dined here. The food, service and ambience are out of this world and it’s definitely worth the money that you need to fork out for the afternoon tea. I can back up this recommendation by saying that I’ve eaten the gluten free afternoon tea at Claridge’s 5 times now and I would happily revisit for another 5…I’m little Miss Piggy (maybe not so little any more after consuming a lot of afternoon tea obviously!)

My Other Three Firm Favourites – Pricey but Ab Fab
The Langham, London
Not trailing far behind Claridge’s is The Langham…they were outstanding and I was happily surprised with the full gluten free afternoon. My only two issues was the savoury item wrapped in a lettuce leaf (come on…SHOW ME THE CALORIES!!) plus the scones left a gluten free flour residue in my mouth.

The Lanesborough, London
I really enjoyed our visit to The Lanesborough…the hotel had recently re-opened after a multi million pound refit and let’s just say it’s very photogenic along with the food. Be aware that on our visit there was a lot of Panna Cotta action going on…if you love Wedgwood then this is the spot for you….it’s very visually pleasing and very calming.

Brown’s Hotel, London
Brown’s Hotel is definitely one of my favourite hotels in London and their gluten free afternoon tea is definitely one of the best in the capital. Their lovely pastry chef has invested a lot of time in making this one of the best afternoon teas in London…once again I’ve eaten here about 5 times and would happily rattle my dags back into London for another scoff session and my other half wouldn’t be too far behind me.

Ace Gluten Free Afternoon Tea BUT Just a Tad Cheaper
The Intercontinental Park Lane definitely does one of the best gluten free afternoon teas in London and I always give them out as my recommendation if you are looking for a slightly cheaper alternative as you can normally pick up a great little deal if you do some research.
I totally understand that folks aren’t always flush with cash and there is a fine balance between tourist attractions and meals out for many when travelling. What I love the most is that this afternoon tea is really great value for money, they offer a good quantity (refills folks!) and quality afternoon tea plus their service and ambiance is up there with the big hotel names above.

So these are my 5 recommendations if you fancy a great gluten free afternoon tea…everyone has their own favourites but these are mine and where I recommend folks to go.
