Well folks, it’s Afternoon Tea week and I thought I would do a post on Afternoon Tea in Bedfordshire as it was the Duchess of Bedford whom started this fabulous craze and it’s also the county that I live in. Maybe that’s why I’m addicted to Afternoon Tea!
Like Christmas, Afternoon Tea Week means we can over indulge and eat as many scones as your clothes will allow. Never wear a belt to Afternoon Tea as it’s like a blooming gastric band; I only made the mistake once!
Afternoon Tea at The Duchess Tea Rooms at Woburn Abbey
Where Afternoon Tea all started, having Afternoon Tea at The Duchess Tea Room’s overlooking the grounds is a nice way to spend an afternoon. You can either take a tour of Woburn Abbey and then enjoy a spot of Afternoon Tea or just rock up and eat Afternoon Tea (no one is going to judge). Just make a booking for Afternoon Tea before you arrive so that you don’t get charged an entry free to Woburn Park.
Afternoon Tea costs £13.50 pp and includes entrance to the Woburn Gardens to work off those calories – you can book via this link. P.S. You can read my review here if you want to see what is on offer.
Afternoon Tea at Luton Hoo
If you are looking for the poshiest Afternoon Tea in Bedfordshire then Luton Hoo is going to tick all your boxes. With dainty bone china and Afternoon Tea served in period lounges you are not going to be disappointed. After scoffing your Afternoon Tea make sure to take a walk through the Capability Brown designed gardens. (Image credit)

Afternoon Tea at Southill Village Stores and Tea Room
My favourite place to have a scone or a full Afternoon Tea is Southill Village Shop and Tea Room. If you’re gluten free you will be impressed with the selection on offer and the quality. During the summer months, you can have Afternoon Tea served in the garden and in the winter my favourite spot is the little nook where all the books are kept.
Afternoon Tea costs £11.50pp and can be booked by calling the Tea Rooms. P.S. You can read my review here if you fancy.
Afternoon Tea at Flitwick Manor

Afternoon Tea at The Woburn Hotel
Offering a slightly more upmarket Afternoon Tea in Woburn than The Duchess Tearooms; The Woburn Hotel offers the below gorgeous Afternoon Tea. During Afternoon Tea Week the hotel is offering a free glass of sparkling wine and now the other half has pointed out that we need to visit pronto. (Image Credit)

Afternoon Tea at The Mansion House at Old Warden Park
I’m a big lover of Afternoon Tea followed by a walk and the grounds at Old Warden Park are glorious especially when the snow drops are out. The Afternoon Tea is only available on selected days so please contact The Mansion House to book.
